Support Worker, Bridgend, £14.50-15.25 p/h  

We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Agency Support Workers to provide high-quality support to individuals with learning disabilities across a range of services. This rewarding role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, choice, and inclusion while delivering person-centred care and support tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, household tasks, and maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support, helping individuals build confidence and maintain positive wellbeing.
  • Enable individuals to access community activities, appointments, and social opportunities, promoting independence and active participation.
  • Assist with mobility and moving and handling activities using safe practices and appropriate techniques, ensuring the individual’s comfort, safety, and dignity.
  • Support individuals who may exhibit behaviours that challenge, responding calmly, professionally, and in line with agreed support plans.
  • Encourage and empower individuals to achieve their personal goals, develop life skills, and reach their full potential.
  • Promote a person-centred approach at all times, respecting individual choices, preferences, rights, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for those you support.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 6 months’ UK experience in care or supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
  • A kind, patient, and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting others.
  • Able to work well within a team while also being confident working independently when needed.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
