Nursery Assistant, Bristol, £14.40-£14.75 per hour

We are currently recruiting caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Nursery Assistants to join our agency team, supporting a variety of well-established nurseries.

The Role
As a Nursery Assistant, you will support nursery staff in providing high-quality care and engaging learning experiences for children. You will help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and develop while ensuring their wellbeing is always a priority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children’s play, learning, and daily routines, helping to create a fun, engaging, and stimulating environment that promotes development.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-organised nursery setting where children feel secure and supported.
  • Work alongside nursery practitioners to supervise children during activities, mealtimes, snack times, and personal care routines.
  • Help prepare, organise, and tidy away activities, equipment, and learning resources throughout the day.
  • Encourage children’s confidence, independence, creativity, and social development through positive interactions and play-based learning.
  • Support the delivery of age-appropriate activities that contribute to children’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents where appropriate.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
  • Passion for early years education and childcare.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt confidently to different nursery environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from nursery staff.
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and professional approach to work.
  • Previous experience working with children is beneficial but not essential.
