Support Worker – Cardiff £14.50-£15.25 p/h
Are you compassionate, reliable, and ready to make a real difference in people’s lives? Our growing care agency is looking for dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Cardiff.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support workers seeking flexible work while making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals within supported living, residential, and community-based settings.
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and household tasks, using a person-centred approach to ensure individual needs are met.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation.
- Support clients to maintain their independence and wellbeing by assisting with community activities, appointments, and social engagement.
- Safely assist clients with mobility using Moving & Handling techniques, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and safety at all times.
- Support individuals who may display challenging behaviour, responding calmly and effectively to maintain a safe and positive environment.
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies and follow individual care and support plans.
- Encourage and support clients in achieving their personal goals, aspirations, and outcomes.
- Accurately record observations and report any concerns to the appropriate team members.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months’ UK-based experience in care and support work.
- Proven experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour.
- Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and person-centred care principles.
- Ability to manage challenging situations confidently using effective de-escalation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, reliable, and professional attitude.
