Waking Night Support Worker
Location: Ystrad Mynach
Pay Rate: £14.50–£15.25 per hour

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker looking for flexible agency work? We are currently recruiting experienced Waking Night Support Workers to provide high-quality overnight care and support to adults with a range of support needs in Ystrad Mynach and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected care provider where you can make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of those you support throughout the night while benefiting from the flexibility and variety that agency work offers.

A valid All Wales Manual Handling Passport is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred overnight support in line with individual care and support plans.
  • Assist with personal care, continence care, repositioning, and other night-time support needs while maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Conduct regular welfare and safety checks to ensure individuals remain comfortable and secure throughout the night.
  • Accurately complete care documentation, incident reports, and handover records.
  • Offer emotional support and reassurance to individuals who may experience anxiety, distress, or sleep-related difficulties.
  • Support safe mobility and transfers using approved moving and handling techniques.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, safeguarding concerns, and challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment, carrying out light housekeeping duties where required.
  • Work independently while liaising effectively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid All Wales Manual Handling Passport – Essential
  • Minimum 6 months’ UK-based experience within a care or support setting
  • A caring, empathetic, and professional approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain alert and responsive throughout waking night shifts
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering exceptional standards of care
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
