Nursery Assistant – Bedford
£14.50–£15.25 per hour
Role Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic and caring Nursery Assistants to join welcoming and supportive childcare settings across Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and develop in a safe, fun, and stimulating environment.
As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the daily running of the nursery, encourage children’s learning through play, and help create positive experiences that contribute to their early years development.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and support engaging play-based activities that encourage learning and development.
Create a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, play sessions, and personal care where required.
Work closely with colleagues to provide high-quality childcare and maintain a positive nursery environment.
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and the wider nursery team.
Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A genuine passion for working with young children.
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
The ability to adapt to different nursery environments.
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ, CACHE, or Level 2/3 Early Years are desirable but not essential.
Previous nursery or childcare experience is advantageous; however, training opportunities are available for suitable candidates.
