Nursery Practitioner, Bridgend, £16 per hour

We are currently recruiting a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our agency team, supporting a range of friendly and well-established nurseries across Bridgend.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced early years professional who is passionate about helping children learn, develop, and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. As a Nursery Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality childcare while enjoying the flexibility and variety that agency work offers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
  • Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care, outdoor play, and rest periods.
  • Observe, monitor, and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and developmental assessments where required.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through engaging activities and positive interactions.
  • Adhere to all safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of care.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as a Diploma in Childcare and Education or Certificate in Early Years Practice (or an equivalent recognised qualification).
  • A minimum of 6 months’ recent UK experience working within an early years or nursery setting.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework and its practical application.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
