Support Worker – Tredegar | £14.50–£15.25 per hour
Are you a compassionate, reliable individual who is passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives? Our growing care agency is seeking dedicated Agency Support Workers to join our team in Tredegar.
Please note: Applicants must hold a valid Practical Manual Handling Certificate.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support with daily living tasks, including personal care and household responsibilities, ensuring individual needs are fully met.
- Offer companionship and emotional reassurance to help reduce loneliness and promote overall wellbeing.
- Encourage and support individuals to maintain independence by accessing community activities, social opportunities, and appointments.
- Safely assist with mobility and transfers using approved Moving and Handling techniques, prioritising dignity, safety, and comfort at all times.
- Support individuals who may present challenging behaviours with a calm, respectful, and professional approach, maintaining a safe environment.
- Motivate and empower clients to work towards their personal goals and aspirations, enhancing confidence, purpose, and quality of life.
Required Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 6 months’ UK-based experience working as a Support Worker.
- A valid Practical Manual Handling Certificate.
- Experience with, or confidence in, supporting individuals who may present with behaviours that challenge.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a strong commitment to making a positive difference in people’s lives.
- Reliable, flexible, and willing to work a variety of shifts across different locations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using initiative and sound judgement to meet client needs effectively.
