Nursery Practitioner, Cardiff, £16 per hour
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our agency team, supporting welcoming and well-established nurseries in Cardiff.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and committed to providing high-quality care in a nurturing environment. You’ll play an important role in supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing, while helping to create positive and engaging experiences every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Plan and participate in fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.
- Create a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
- Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care, outdoor play, and rest periods.
- Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and developmental assessments.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Encourage children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through positive interactions and engaging activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (such as a Diploma in Childcare and Education or Certificate in Early Years Practice).
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience working within a UK early years setting.
- A sound understanding of the EYFS framework and how to apply it in practice.
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for supporting young children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
