ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for caring, reliable and experienced Residential Support Workers to join our agency team, with opportunities available across East Sussex, West Sussex and surrounding areas.
You will be supporting children and young people within residential services who may have autism, learning disabilities, complex needs and emotional or behavioural support needs.
Using a person-centred approach, you will help young people feel safe, valued and supported, while encouraging independence, confidence, communication and positive life skills.
THE ROLE
Your responsibilities may include:
Providing high-quality, person-centred support to children and young people.
Supporting daily routines, personal care and activities where required.
Promoting independence, confidence and life skills.
Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
Encouraging participation in activities, education and community opportunities.
Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
Maintaining accurate records and providing effective handovers.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals.
Promoting a safe, respectful and nurturing environment.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for people who are:
Caring, patient and empathetic.
Experienced working with children and young people, ideally within residential care.
Confident supporting autism, learning disabilities or complex needs.
Calm and resilient when faced with challenging situations.
Reliable, professional and committed.
Strong communicators and team players.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Flexible and able to work day, evening, night and weekend shifts.
A valid DBS is desirable, although we can support suitable candidates through the DBS process.
