Nursery Deputy Manager – Near Winchester
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Qualification Required: Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Nursery Deputy Manager to join a well-established, purpose-built day nursery set in a beautiful rural location near Winchester.
This unique nursery offers an inspiring environment where children can learn, play and thrive. Set within approximately one acre of countryside, the setting features extensive outdoor play areas, woodland walks, gardens and outdoor learning spaces, providing children with exceptional opportunities to explore and connect with nature every day.
We are looking for a confident and motivated Deputy Manager who is passionate about delivering outstanding early years education, supporting the nursery team, and ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery.
Ensure the safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all children, staff and visitors.
Ensure the nursery operates in line with the EYFS Framework and all regulatory requirements.
Lead, motivate and support the nursery team to deliver high-quality care and education.
Create stimulating learning environments that support children’s development.
Oversee children’s records, care plans and medication procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation and nursery records.
Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
Promote outstanding practice and contribute towards continuous improvement across the setting.
Requirements
Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
Previous leadership or senior practitioner experience within an early years setting.
At least one year’s experience working in Early Years.
Good knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework and safeguarding requirements.
Previous management or deputy management experience is desirable.
Level 5 qualification in Childcare, Leadership or Management is advantageous.
Experience of supporting a Good or Outstanding Ofsted inspection is desirable.
