We had a fantastic response from clients across south Wales to win a St David’s Day gig from ‘The Tom Jones Experience’.
The winner is Spring Gardens, a residential care home in Newport for adults aged 60 plus who have a diagnosis of dementia.
"It was a really difficult job to choose a winner, as there were a stack of absolutely brilliant entries,” says Adrienne, manager of all Completely Care clients in South Wales and the West of England.
"Some were really thoughtful, and I just wish that Tom (aka Robb Dee) was able to give us a full day, so he could visit everyone who entered.
"One great entry managed to fit in the names of about 20 of Tom’s greatest hits into their entry.
"And another’s picture-poem entry is now hanging on the office wall!”
However, there could be only one winner, and Rhiannon from Spring Gardens is overjoyed that her residents, staff, family and friends can share St David’s Day in style.
"We currently are undergoing a lot of changes within Spring Gardens, and this is a perfect thank you to them for sticking with us through these changes, which can only be for the better!” says the assistant manager.
residents with memory issues and lots of them enjoy listening to music in the
afternoon, particularly in our ‘street’.
"This street is where they spend time reminiscing about the old days. It has large pictures and props such as an old bus, cafe style dining area, dressing up areas, shops and an area to sit and listen to music.
"Most of our residents really enjoy this, so having the real thing will be perfect for them.”
So well done Spring Gardens, and we look forward to hearing all about your special day.
