Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker looking for regular work, long-term opportunities, or a permanent role where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are recruiting for a specialist residential service on the outskirts of Reading, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, and behaviours that can challenge. This is a rewarding opportunity for resilient, compassionate individuals who are passionate about helping young people thrive.

Due to the rural location of the service, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

The Role
You’ll be supporting children and young people in a residential setting, helping them to:

Develop independence and life skills
Access activities and meaningful experiences
Manage emotions and behaviours positively
Build confidence, communication, and social skills
Enjoy a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
You will work closely with a dedicated team to provide high-quality, person-centred care while following care plans, behaviour support strategies, and safeguarding procedures.

What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with autism, learning disabilities, complex needs, or challenging behaviour
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
Confidence managing behaviours that challenge and supporting emotional regulation
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
Full UK driving licence and own transport (essential)

What’s on Offer?
£15.75–£16.00 per hour agency rate
Ongoing agency shifts available immediately
Temp-to-perm opportunities
Permanent roles available with salaries around £30,000 depending on experience
Regular hours and consistent work
Supportive management team
Excellent training and development opportunities
The chance to make a real and lasting difference to young people’s lives
If you’re looking for a role that is challenging, rewarding, and offers genuine career progression, we’d love to hear from you.
