Nursery Assistant – Cardiff
£14.40–£15.00 per hour
We are currently recruiting caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to join our agency team, supporting a range of welcoming and well-established nurseries across Cardiff.
This role is ideal for anyone looking to gain valuable experience in an early years setting, begin a career in childcare, or enjoy the flexibility of agency work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children’s learning, play, and daily routines, helping to create a fun and engaging environment.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-organised nursery setting that promotes children’s wellbeing.
- Work closely with nursery practitioners to supervise children during activities, mealtimes, outdoor play, and personal care routines.
- Prepare, set up, and tidy away activities, toys, and learning resources throughout the day.
- Encourage children’s confidence, independence, creativity, and curiosity through positive interactions and play-based learning.
- Support the delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care.
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their learning and development.
- A positive, caring, and reliable approach with a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from senior staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Previous experience in a childcare or early years setting is desirable but not essential.
