Nursery Assistant, Harpenden, Up to £15.25 per hour

Role Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Assistants to join our friendly and supportive team in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, to create a nurturing and inspiring environment where children can learn, play, and thrive. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting early childhood development and learning, focusing on child-centred approaches and play-based learning techniques. If you are passionate about working with children and want to make a lasting difference, this is an excellent opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of young minds in a fun and creative way, utilising your skills in childcare and education.

Key Responsibilities
Lead fun, creative, and educational activities to support early childhood development and learning, focusing on child-centred approaches and play-based learning techniques, and create a safe, happy, and nurturing space for every child, promoting their wellbeing and enjoyment. Ensure their physical, emotional, and social needs are met, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive setting, fostering a sense of community and teamwork, and promoting positive relationships with parents and carers. Assist with daily routines, prioritising children’s needs and ensuring their physical, emotional, and social development, while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised environment, and utilising your knowledge of childcare practices and procedures.

Required Skills & Experience
A genuine passion for working with young children, with a patient, caring, and understanding approach, is essential for this role, along with energy, creativity, and a positive, can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents, are highly desirable, and experience working in a nursery or childcare setting would be beneficial. While childcare qualifications, such as NVQ or CACHE, are desirable, they are not essential, as we provide training and support for the right candidates, and we welcome applicants with a range of backgrounds and experience.

Benefits
Competitive pay rate of up to £15.25 per hour, reflecting your skills and experience, and offering a rewarding salary for your hard work, along with flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle, offering a healthy work-life balance, and allowing you to balance your personal and professional commitments. You will also benefit from a supportive team environment, with a friendly, positive, and inclusive atmosphere, and opportunities for professional development and growth, including free online training and development, and a £250 Joining bonus for qualified childcare staff.
